Hyperloop: more than a pipe dream?

Hyperloop: more than a pipe dream?

It’s worth keeping an eye out for developments in hyperloop, a transport mode that uses electrically propelled magnetically levitated pods within near-vacuum tubes to carry goods at speeds of up to 760 mph. Our article in the March issue of R&S magazine examines the significant challenges this technology faces when it comes to implementation and its viability for transporting passengers in the future.

Analytica online short-form magazine concept launched

We were delighted that our client, the British Association of Removers, has taken forward our concept for R&S Express, a short-form online version of the monthly printed magazine R&S. R&S Express is sent fortnightly by email to BAR Members who can click to view key features and stories from the latest issue as well as topical news.

Integrated Reporting embraced by the companies of the future

A number of Analytica Media clients are now transitioning to an Integrated Report format in place of an Annual Report and a Corporate Responsibility Report. This makes good sense as it demonstrates how forward-looking companies are integrating both their financial and extra-financial performance objectives and results into their operating business models, vision and strategies. The reports we are putting together for our clients are in line with the International Integrated Reporting Council’s reference framework.

Oscar Plomer-Roberts joins the Analytica Media team!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Oscar Plomer-Roberts as Business Writer. Oscar will also take on the role of News Editor for R&S magazine, the leading publication of the removals and storage industry, published by our client the British Association of Removers. Oscar graduated with first class honours from Oxford University where he set up 1555, the termly undergraduate magazine of St John’s College.

Women in logistics

According to official statistics less than a quarter of those working in the transport and logistics sector are female. The March issue of R&S, produced by Analytica Media, sees the launch of a series of articles that will look at how leading companies in the sector are addressing the gender gap to ensure that talented women can develop their careers working in the removals and storage industry.

Options for ‘grandlords’

There is speculation that the Government’s recent changes to pensions could have quite an impact on the Buy to Let sector as the over 55s look to reinvest the money that they have taken out of their pension pot. In the November/December issue of UK Landlord we asked Jane Simpson, new Managing Director at NLA Mortgages, about the constraints and opportunities available to landlords and would-be landlords as they approach retirement age

Sustainability ratings

Analytica Media supported Atos, an international leader in digital services, in preparing its successful submission for selection on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). As a result, Atos’ sustainability performance is now recognized in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World 2015 (which tracks the sustainability performance of the top 10% of the 2500 largest companies) and in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe 2015, which focuses on the top 20% of the 600 largest companies in Europe. Atos is the only multinational IT Services company this year to be part of both DJSI Indices.

Champions in customer experience

The removals industry was in good form at its annual meeting, this year hosted by the city of Belfast. The British Association of Removers’ three specialised awards demonstrated the industry’s priorities for professionalism and quality service for its customers. As part of the coverage of the Belfast annual meeting in R&S magazine, Analytica interviewed the winners Richard Healey Removals (Domestic Mover of the Year 2015), Universal Commercial Relocation (Commercial Mover of the Year 2015) and Bournes International Moves (Overseas Mover of the Year 2015) about what it takes to excel in their sector.
